Mamie Brown
Mamie Brown, 69, of Krebs, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, at McAlester Regional Health Center.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Victory Park Baptist Church with the Rev. Jody Domingue, the Rev. David Stanfield and Chaplain O. C. Hawkins officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
Born June 1, 1939, in Krebs, to John and Gracie (Goodman) Maynard, she grew up in Krebs and had lived there all her life. She loved to help people and enjoyed making quilts and angel dolls to give away as gifts.
Survivors include one daughter, Gracie Stone, of Krebs; three sons and daughters-in-law, Tom Stone Jr. and his wife, Denise, of McAlester, Bill Stone and his wife, Dee Dee, of McAlester, Guy Gibson and his wife, Karen, of Hartshorne.
And, 10 grandchildren, David Stone, of the home, Cody Stone, Kamra Shaneck, Zack Miller, Tony Miller, Kelsie Gibson, Kelly Sumpter, Elizabeth Davidson, Sarah Davidson, Jarrett Davidson; five great-grandchildren, and many others who knew her as “Grandma.”
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Vera Stone; her first husband, Tom Stone Sr.; her last husband, Perry Brown, and brothers and sisters, C. W. Evans, Dee Evans, Lee Evans, Burl Ray Evans, Jessie Maynard, Pearl Clark, Mae Ezell and Mary Wilson.
