Thomas Charles ‘Tommy’ Boyce

Thomas Charles “Tommy” Boyce, 57, of Krebs, died Thursday, July 2, 2009, at his residence.

The family will receive visitors from 5 p.m. until Rosary that will begin at 7 p.m. at Bishop Funeral Home with Father Leonard Higgins as Celebrant.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Catholic Church with Father Leonard Higgins officiating. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, McAlester, under direction of Bishop Funeral Service.

Born Aug. 2, 1951, in McAlester, to Charles Raymond and Rosie Lenora Boyce, he attended elementary school at St. John’s Catholic School and later graduated from McAlester High School in the class of 1969. He attended vo-tech schooling and earned his certified master machinist certification. He began his career as a machinist at the Champion Rubber plant and later Oklahoma Aerotronics Incorporated in Hartshorne. He had been working at National Oilwell Varco in McAlester as a master machinist for the past 14 years.

He married Anita Louise Smith on March 19, 1982, in Durant. He was dedicated to his family and work and enjoyed fishing and swimming.

Survivors include his wife, Anita Boyce, of the home; daughter, Lana C. Boyce and Toni Vaught, of Tulsa; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Carla Alexander, of Tulsa; three grandchildren, Jillian, Alexis and Adrianna Alexander, all of Tulsa; his mother, Rosie Boyce, of McAlester; two sisters, Jessie Choate, of Ada, Betty Adams, of Oklahoma City, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and all his friends at National Oilwell Varco.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Boyce, and his grandmother, Nunzia Lenora.

Pallbearers include Michael Roby, Darrell Harmon, Randy Laudermilk, John D. Dixon, Ty Williams and David Hilsabeck.

Honorary pallbearers include Bill Links, Frank Pope, Keith Coulter and employees of National Oilwell.
