Thomas Joe (Tommy Joe) Sturgeon, died Monday, June 22, 2009, in Rangely, Colo.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Meeker-Cochran Funeral Home in Meeker, Colo.
Born Mar. 28, 1941, in Checotah, he was the son of Joseph Henderson Sturgeon and Marie Utley Sturgeon.
Survivors include his mother, Marie Utley Sturgeon, of Bakersfield, Calif.; wife, Jeanetta Sturgeon, of the home, Blue Mountain, Colo.; sons, Leroy Duff and wife, Jeannie, of Booneville, Ark., Joseph Henderson and wife, LeeAnna, of Clayton, Glen Thomas “Bubba” Sturgeon and wife, Michele, of Clayton, and Jason David Smith, of Canadian; daughter, Lisa Stoner and husband, Greg, of Tulsa; grandchildren, Amanda Parker, Trey, Cora, Hanna, and Kaci Sturgeon, Justin, Kali and Kaci Smith; great-grandchild, Ava Parker; brother, Gene Sturgeon; sisters, Marilyn Muth and Betty Nunley, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Henderson Sturgeon.
