— John C. Jeffrey, 46, of McAlester, died Monday, June 29, 2009, at his home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Kiowa Cemetery Pavilion with the Rev. Scott Walker officiating. Burial will be at Kiowa Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
Born Oct. 25, 1962, in California, he was the son of Gerald G. and Laura Janese (Cheek) Jeffrey. He had lived in McAlester for the past 40 years and lived in Kiowa for 12 years before that. He had always done odd-job work and for the past two years worked for McAlester Public Schools.
Survivors include one son, James Jeffrey, of Alva; aunts, Joan Cheek, of McAlester, June Allen and her husband, Edward, of McAlester, Betty Murphy, of Kiowa, and Virginia Phelps, of Kiowa; nephews, Josh Jeffrey, of McAlester, and Jonathan Jeffrey, of McAlester, and numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gerald Scott Jeffrey; grandparents, Frank and Hartie Cheek and Charles and Ada Jeffrey, and an aunt, Jane Perkins.
