David Rogers

David Lee Rogers, 56, of Canadian, died Monday, June 9, 2008, at Lindsay Municipal Hospital in Lindsay.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Red Oak Cemetery, Canadian, with the Rev. Casey Warford officiating. Burial will be at Red Oak Cemetery, Canadian, under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.

The funeral procession will leave at 1 p.m. for those who would like to follow.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 Friday evening at Bishop Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include Roy Rogers, Gary Rogers, John Ketcher, Danny Boling, Blane Mouser and Thad Baker.

Born Dec. 16, 1951, in Porterville, Calif., to John Harold and Peggy Sue Creekmore Rogers, he worked for a number of years as a supervisor for the Tule River Co-Op and later became a self employed carpenter in California. He also was a close personal friend and employee of country artists David Frizzell and Shelly West.

In 1997, he moved to McAlester, where he enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family, especially holidays.

Survivors include his mother, Peggy Ketcher, of Canadian; three brothers, Roy Rogers and wife, Norma, of Porterville, Calif., Gary Rogers and wife, Lorri, of Porterville, Calif., John Ketcher and wife, Wanette, of Longtown; three sisters, Jeannie Boling and husband, Danny, of Hanford, Calif., Trisha Rogers and husband, Blane, of Krebs, Barbie Baker and husband, Tad, of Elkins, Ark.; special aunt, Bonnie Combs and husband, Gene, of Canadian.

And, four aunts, Dorothy Montgomery, of Council Hill, Jan Banks and husband, Bob, of Shawnee, Bea Long, of McAlester, Alta Long, of McAlester; two uncles, George Creekmore and wife, Ninfa, of Porterville, Calif., James and Margie Rogers, of Bugtussle; 22 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Rogers; a sister, Kimberly Sexton; his grandparents, Roy and Laura Bell Creekmore; a nephew, Wesley Baker; 11 uncles, and six aunts.
