Andrew Bristow
Andrew Jackson “Pete” Bristow, 90, of Haileyville, died Monday, May 12, 2008, at his home.
Family will greet friends from 5 to 7 tonight at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Elmwood Cemetery Pavilion with Brother Charles Sawyer and Dean Sumpter officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Hartshorne. Military honors will be provided by Robert B. Thomas Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1098. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of Hartshorne.
Born Dec. 16, 1917, in Jack Fork, east of Hartshorne, he was the son of Azoph Giles and Callie Alice (Strow) Bristow.
He served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War.
He worked for the Alaska pipeline as a cook. He was a member of the Jesus Name Pentecostal Church in Hartshorne.
Survivors include his ex-wife, Ruby Lorene (Cohen) Bristow, of Hartshorne; five children and a spouse, Linda Kay (Wallen) Baker, of Tulsa, Lois Marie Bristow, of Tulsa, Randy Dewayne and Karen Bristow, of Haileyville, Andrew Jackson “Jack” Bristow Jr., Dallas, and Robert Eugene “Bob” Bristow, of Florida.
Also, one sister and brother-in-law, Frances (Bristow) and Bill Wingo, of Poteau, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other loved ones, and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dustin Bristow, Randy Davidson, Ronnie Cohen, Wade McVay, Red Allen, and Jared Weeden.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five children, Ruth Sexton Bristow, Nadine Sexton Bristow, Jimmy Sexton Bristow, Norma Jean “Suzy” Bristow and Billy Fred Bristow; ex-wife, Willie Jeffers; brothers and sisters, Emma Lee Campbell, Walter Ross Bristow, Para Lee “Perk” Stein, Azoph Giles “Booney” Bristow Jr., James Eardley Bristow, Wilma Jane Kennedy, Theodore Joseph “Buddy” Bristow, Charlie Bristow and Callie Bristow.
