Donna Jean Donathan
Donna Jean Donathan, 73, of Fanshawe, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center in Poteau.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Free Will Baptist Church in Fanshawe with the Rev. Kenneth Majors officiating. Burial will be at Fanshawe Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
Born Aug. 30, 1935, in Ponca City, she was the daughter of Jack Asbury and Bessie Jane (Spurteon) Smith. She was a 1953 graduate of Nowata High School and married Joseph Donathan on April 30, 1974. She retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1984.
She and her husband were members of First Free Will Baptist Church of Fanshawe.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Donathan, of the home; five sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Donathan, of Calhoun, Neil and Pat Donathan, of Panama, Jerry and Barbara Donathan, of McAlester, Mike and Liza Donathan, of Panama, and Terry Wiggins, of Oklahoma City; daughter, Phyllis Brigance, of Eufaula.
Also, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Williams, Corpus Christi, Texas, Betty Carroll, Dallas, Nancy Adams, of Miami, and Cheryl Hall, of Jenks, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Linda Elizabeth Wilkerson and Kathy Elaine Wampler; five brothers, Jack, John, Jim, Clay, and Steven Smith; a grandson, Robert Justin Donathan, and her parents.
Pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons.
