Gerald Alfred Rodden, 64, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at Boyce Manor in Holdenville.

Graveside services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Indianola Cemetery Pavilion with Brother Bill Kirk officiating. Burial will be at Indianola Cemetery under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.

Born Sept. 14, 1945, in Indianola, he was the only child of Alfred and Ethel (Kirk) Rodden. He grew up and attended school at Indianola. After the death of his father, he and his mother sold their home at Indianola and moved to McAlester.

His mother, Ethel, died Nov. 8, 2002, at McAlester Regional Health Center after a brief illness. She was 90.

He enjoyed people, singing and entertaining and performing his Elvis Presley impersonation. He was a member of the Church of Christ and would discuss the importance of being a Christian with friends and acquaintances. He was an honest and straight-forward person.

Survivors include a daughter, Julie; aunt, Evalena Herrian, and uncle, Bill Kirk.
