Taylor to wed Bias in outdoor ceremony

McALESTER — Carissa A. Taylor and Jason J. Bias are announcing their engagement and approaching wedding ceremony set for Sept. 28 at 5:03 p.m. on the McAlester property of the Tannehill family.

Carissa is the daughter of Chris and Sonja Taylor, of McAlester, and granddaughter of Myron and Shirley Taylor, of Centralia, Wash., and Lois and Manfred Bielass, of Tampa, Fla.

She received her bachelor’s degree in recreation management at Oklahoma State University and works as a teacher at West Minister Childhood Development Center in Oklahoma City.

Jason is the son of Michael and the late Tresea Bias, of Bartow, Fla., and the father of Sable, 13, and Avery, 6. His grandparents are Nettie Adams, of Coalgate; Vida Perry, of Madill, and the late Jake Mapp.

Jason is a business account manager for Dell in Oklahoma City.

Carissa’s maids of honor are her sister, Kylee Taylor, of McAlester, and Janae Minnich, of Tulsa. Bridesmaids are Sable Bias, daughter of the groom; Lisa Taylor, sister-in-law of the bride, of New York City; Alicia Taylor, cousin of the bride, of Las Vegas; Melissa Tew, of Lemoore, Calif.; Phylicia Chesshir, of Alexandria, La.; Lacey Patrick and Kathy Manahan, both of Edmond; Audrey Chirico, of Dallas; Mary Wieczorek, of Berlin, Wisc., and Kylene Alsip, of McAlester.

Groomsmen are Banner Stovall, Josh Hanson, Benji Nsakashalo, Jason Head, Donelle Cole and Godwin Ikuesanu, all of Oklahoma City; Richard Melgard, of Sherman, Texas; and brothers of the bride Jason Taylor, of New York City, Jeremy Taylor, of Rocklin, Calif., and Justin Taylor, of Midwest City;

Carissa’s father, Elder Chris Taylor of Lakewood Christian Church, will officiate at the wedding ceremony. A potluck reception for family and friends will follow.
