SOFA Art Gallery

As of mid-November, here are the artists featured at the gallery.

McALESTER — Inside The Galleria Building, sharing a store front entrance with Interior Resources, patrons of the arts may find a new art gallery showcasing a wide variety of art by southeastern Oklahomans.

Artists of Southeastern Oklahoma Fine Arts Inc. opened the SOFA Art Gallery at 30 E. Choctaw Ave. earlier this year. Their successful grand opening was July 20, and since then they have added new artwork and new artists.

Every month they host a few classes where participants are given materials and an objective to create a painting or a mix-media piece.

Starting this month, the gallery has changed their hours of business and even added an extra day to be open. Hours are: Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. After Thanksgiving, the gallery will open its doors on Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. in hopes to accomedate holiday shoppers.
