Real American food, New Orleans style

McALESTER — Casual Gourmet members were hosted for their monthly luncheon at Debbie McCauley’s house recently. Co-hostesses were Debbie Nelson and Sue Miller who prepared a  buffet of savory beef patties, sweet potatoes, vegetables and desserts.

Director Margaret Fields welcomed Dolores Miller, one of the original  founders of the Casual Gourmet club, for the meeting. Other guests were Sherri Brumley, Mary Pat Young, Kimberly Thornton and Frances LerBlance.

Fields distributed volunteer forms for next year, Nancy Gates gave the treasurer’s report and Judy Goodyear shared Sunshine News, including a personal thank-you note from Nancy Gates. Janis Allford discussed Fortnightly clubs that meet at the Puterbaugh House and feedback for updating the decór.

LerBlance announced that McCauley will be the honorary chairperson for the Annual Pink Ribbon Luncheon set for Oct. 30 to raise money for Oklahoma Project Woman. The club next meets March 18 for a Casual Fun Lunch to share ideas and for “power eating.”  Hostesses will be Cecilia McMahan, Goodyear and Cheryl James.

Also attending were Vickie Cherry, June Boyd, Edlyne Boyer, Debbie Brown, Carlotta Priddy, Cheryl James, Janet Derichsweiler, McMahan, Dot Thompson and Ada Nell Ward.
