McALESTER — On Tuesday, 1,200 head of cattle were sold at the McAlester Union Stockyards. Steers sold $2 to $9 higher than at the last sale and heifers sold $4 to $8 higher.

There were 270 cows and bulls sold at the evening sale Tuesday at McAlester Union Stockyards.

Packer cows sold $1 to $3 lower than at the last sale, and packer bulls sold $1 higher.

High-yielding packer bulls sold from $125 to $130. Average-yielding packer bulls sold from $120 to $123. Low-yielding packer bulls sold from $114 to $118.

High-yielding packer cows sold from $101 to $107. Average-yielding packer cows sold from $97 to $107. Low-yielding packer cows sold from $90 to $99.

A sale is held at the stockyards every Tuesday, with sales of stocker and feeder cattle beginning at 10 a.m. and sales of cows and bulls beginning at 6 p.m.
