Sean Lassiter
Sean David Lassiter, McAlester, recently graduated from United States Marine Corps Recruit Training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego, Calif.
During recruit training, Lassiter learned military customs and courtesies, first aid and a variety of military related subjects.
Marine Corps “boot camp” is a rigorous training period, both physically and mentally, designed to enhance raw talent and create the moral discipline required by all Marines. After graduation, new Marines learn occupation specialties at formal schools and gain further knowledge from on-the-job training.
Private Lassiter is the son of Kimberly Ann and Robert David Lassiter, SSgt USMC (Ret.), McAlester. He was enlisted by Sergeant Nolan from Recruiting Substation McAlester, 520 S. George Nigh Expwy.

Zane Bowne
Zane Bowen, son of Randy and Stephanie Bowen of Stuart, recently enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Delayed Entry Program. This program allows high school seniors to enlist in the Marine Corps and defer going to recruit training until after high school graduation.
During recruit training, Bowen will learn military customs and courtesies, first aid and a variety of military-related subjects.

Joshua Crone

Jason Hunnicut
Jason Allen Hunnicut, a senior at Nancy W. Taylor High School in Wilburton, graduated from Basic Infantry Training at Ft. Jackson, S.C. on Aug. 6.
Hunnicut will return to Ft. Jackson next May, after he graduates high school, to complete Advanced Infantry Training for the Army National Guard.
Hunnicut enjoys fishing, hunting and has earned a Blue Belt in Pasaryu martial arts.
He is the son of Allen and Reba Hunnicut.
