Board meets for nine hours

A Quinton School Board meeting that lasted for nine hours rehired Quinton elementary principal, Linda Ballard. There was a large crowd that attended the special School Board meeting.
Quinton mayor, Ron Wiggins, reported that the city of Quinton has now received 1.7 million dollars of grants and loans for water line construction.
Steve and Debbie Basden, and his mother, Colene, were visitors in McAlester last week.
Donna Dunlap, a cancer survivor, sang for residents at Quinton Manor on June 20.
The Quinton Pentecostal Holiness Church has a prayer meeting each Tuesday at 2 p.m.
The Quinton Christian Church will hold services at Quinton Manor at 2 p.m. on June 29.
Kaylauna Daniels visited her grandparents, Emmett and Inez Daniels.
Haley Young, of Wilburton, recently celebrated her 8th birthday. She is the daughter of Steffie Young, of Wilburton, and Steve Young, of Clayton.
The Phillips brothers came and sang at Quinton Manor on June 21.
Former Quinton school superintendent, Sherri Prentice, has been hired as superintendent at Westville Public Schools.
Former Quinton High School principal David Smith was recently hired to be superintendent at Watts Public Schools.
