Grantham weds Doyle in double-ring ceremony

Shelly Ann Grantham and Peter Allen Doyle exchanged wedding vows during a double-ring ceremony at Grand Avenue Methodist Church in McAlester. The nuptials took place Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. with the Rev. John Shirley officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Dave and Sandy Grantham, McAlester. Her grandparents are Ray and Claudine Clemmons, McAlester, the late Bill Myers, the late Willard and Eunice Grantham, Mollie and the late Cliff Myers; and the late Willie and Pauline Ross.
Doyle’s parents are James and Lori Doyle, Moore; and Nancy Doyle, Del City. His grandparents are Bill and Barbara Doyle, Hobart; and Marilyn Kirpley, Midwest City.
Red roses, white pillars and candles decorated the auditorium. The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father. She wore a white satin halter gown with beaded lace bodice and a cathedral length with beaded lace appliques and rosette adornments. Her white tulle veil had a ribbon edge, and she wore a contour tiara of rhinestones and pearls. She had a penny in her shoe the year of her birth, given to her by her grandmother. She carried a bouquet of red roses.
Serving as matron of honor was Lorraine Haley, Norman. Jill Patterson, of Norman, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amber Wheeler and Candace Kite, both of Amarillo; and Pam Miller and Kristin Boensch, both of Norman. Serving as candlelighters were Katy and Jacy Martin, Tulsa, who are cousins of the bride.
Serving as flower girl was Brennan Hockett, Norman. She wore an evening length white satin and tulle dress, with red rose petals inside the tulle. Her white basket was adorned with white satin and contained red rose petals.
Serving as best man was Clint Thomas, of Oklahoma City. Groomsmen were John Cave, Oklahoma City, Chad Drabek, Moore, Eric Jackson, Yukon, David Haley, Noble and Brad Boensch, Norman.
Jace Fink, Scipio, was the ring bearer. He carried a square shaped pillow trimmed in white satin. The bride and groom left the church in a white horse drawn carriage.
A reception was held at the McAlester Country Club. The four tiered wedding cake was white and decorated with live red roses.
The bridegroom’s chocolate cake was made in the shape of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. There was a silver champagne fountain.
The bride is a 1997 graduate of McAlester High School. She is a barber at The Rage in Norman. The groom is a 1997 graduate of Carl Albert High School in Midwest City. He is employed by Glass Masters of Oklahoma City.
After a honeymoon trip to Las Vegas, the couple are at home in Norman.
