McALESTER — Gary Michael Daniels Sr., 61, of Pittsburg, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, in Tulsa.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Pittsburg with the Rev. Kenny Morrow and Ronnie Rice officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home of McAlester.

Born Dec. 7, 1951, in Pittsburg, he was the son of Roy Ralph Daniels and Deloice Irene Daniels. He attended and graduated from Pittsburg High School.

He then began working for Pittsburg County, District 2 as a heavy equipment operator, retiring after 41 years.

He also served as a volunteer fireman for the Pittsburg area volunteer fire department for several years.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing with family, shooting guns with his brothers, working on his farm and gardens and spending time with grandchildren, family and friends.

Survivors include his son, Gary Michael “Mike” Daniels Jr., of Pittsburg; daughter, Melanie Webb and husband, Dustin, of Pittsburg; three granddaughters, Abby C. Daniels, Melinda Webb and Madison Webb.

Alo, brothers, Terry Daniels, of Pittsburg, and Dale Daniels, of Harrah; sisters, Evelyn Newton, of Texas, and Carolyn Cook, of Pittsburg; special friend, Roberta Lee Tabor, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janice Daniels; first wife, Frances Sherrill Higgins, and nephew, Scott D. Daniels.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Rice, Louis Barron, Denty Christman, Jim Sullivan, Joe Sullivan and Jimmy Ray Wood.
