Kenneth Ridenour Sr.

McALESTER — Kenneth Ridenour Sr., 72, of McAlester, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at Solara Hospital in Muskogee.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bishop Funeral Service.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at High Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Davis officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.

Born March 10, 1940, in Fillmore, he was the son of Clyde and Edith Raby Ridenour. He grew up mostly in Meade and Silo, attending schools there.

He began his career in bricklaying when he was 19 years old when he began working for himself. He did both commercial and residential bricklaying over the years.

He married Janice Nunnally on Sept. 13, 1958, in Ardmore.

He was a member of the High Hill Baptist Church for 32 years.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Ridenour, of the home; four children and spouses, Darla and Quinton Frank, of Alderson, Marian and Gary Myskey, of McAlester, Kenny Jr. and Cathy Ridenour, of Bache, and Liz Roberts, of Krebs.

Also, grandchildren and spouses, Leonard and Annie Frank, April Creekmore, Rodney and Ashlie Ridenour, Kristina and Matt Stephan, Nathan and Isabelle Ridenour, Jordan Ridenour, Kindal Roberts and Jimmy and Jessica Roberts; 10 great-grandchildren.

And, brother, James Ridenour, of McAlester, and brothers-in-law and spouses, Dennis Nunnally, of Durant, Timmy and Sheila Nunnally, Belleville, Ill., and John Sidney and Priscilla Nunnally, of Caddo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ancel Ridenour; a great-granddaughter, Serenity Stephan; brothers-in-laws, Randy Nunnally and Jerry Lynn Nunnally; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Peggy and Jack Schmitz, and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack Nunnally and Dorothy Ridenour.

Pallbearers will be Leonard Frank, Rodney Ridenour, Nathan Ridenour, Jimmy Roberts, Jordan Ridenour and Tracey Creekmore.

Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Jefferson, William Schmitz, Chris Nunnally, Ray Pool and Charlie Poole.
