McALESTER — Clara L. Burnett, 83, of McAlester, died Saturday, March 1, 2014, at McAlester Regional Health Center.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bishop Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Bill Kirk officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in McAlester. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.

Born Oct. 17, 1930, in Indianola, she was the daughter of Raymond and Margie Carman Boggan. She grew up in the Crowder area and graduated from Crowder High School in 1948.

She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in McAlester. She married Charles A. Burnett in 1948 and they made their home in McAlester.

She was employed by Komar for 15 years. She later worked for North American Rockwell until her retirement in 1991. After her retirement she enjoyed sewing and knitting.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Lynn Burnett, of McAlester; a son-in-law, Austin Reagan, of McAlester.

Also, four grandchildren, Lance Burnett, of McAlester, Stephanie Sheppard, of McAlester, Dee Dee Burnett, of McAlester, and Tezarah Upton, of McAlester; seven great-grandchildren, Dray Burnett, Dane Burnett, Derek Goodson, Darcey Shuman, Val Diaz, Sterling Carswell and Lainey Carswell.

And, numerous nieces and nephews, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, JoAnn Burnett, of Boswell, Dorthy Nix, of McAlester, Virginia and Jim Burdge, of Sand Springs, Wanda and Roger Hadley, of Shawnee, and Imogene and George Michie, of McAlester.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles A. Burnett, in 2002; her daughter, Elaine Reagan; two sisters, Betty Collins and Marguerite Burdine, and her daughter-in-law, Jeanie Burnett.

Pallbearers will be Dray Burnett, Dane Burnett, Derek Goodson, Nick Upton, Daniel Diaz and Clint Wadley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lance Burnett, Mikey Burnett and Scott Burnett.
