Inez Stowers, 100, of McAlester, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at a local nursing center.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Savanna with the Revs. David Hall and Kyle Cummings officiating. Burial will be at Savanna Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
Born Jan. 15, 1913, in Dustin, she was the daughter of Belmont Derene and Sarah Ellen (Mathews) Sullivan. She married O.C. Stowers on Aug. 3, 1937, in Atoka.
She loved raising her kids and grandkids and was a member of First Baptist Church in Savanna.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Helen Stowers; daughters-in-law, Margaret Stowers and Rosella Garvin.
Also, seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; 10 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, O.C. Stowers; daughters, Barbara Britton and Janice Joy Stowers; sons, Jackie Garvin, Louis Stowers and Ray Stowers; granddaughter, Diane Odom, and brothers, Leonard and Buster Sullivan.
Pallbearers will be Mike Mize, Merle Hite, Gary Stowers, Michael Stowers, Travis Terrell and Tristen Terrell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Lyles and Henry Stowers.
