Arthur Lisle, 83, of McAlester, died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at his home.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Fort Gibson National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.
He was born April 11, 1929, in Brooklyn, N.Y., and raised on a farm in Neptune, N.J. He was the youngest of six children born to John Richard Lisle and Alice Lillian (Wright) Lisle. At the age of 17 he joined the United States Army and made this his career. He was a medical laboratory technician and cytologist, serving in three wars.
He enjoyed reading, researching American History and telling stories.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine (Hatch) Lisle, of the home; two sons, John Richard Lisle, of Carthage, Mo., and Thomas Patrick Lisle, of Tulsa; daughter-in-law, Misty Lisle; four grandchildren, James Aaron, Mary Katherine, Jordan Elizabeth and Madison RayLee, and numerous nephews and nieces in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and North Carolina.
