Annabelle J. Nolan

McALESTER — Annabelle J. Nolan, 92, of McAlester, died Saturday, April 20, 2013, at a local nursing home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Peaceable Valley Church with the Rev. Mike Farriswill officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.

She was born on Oct. 15, 1920, in Haywood to Hugh D. and Julie V. Pollard Moore.

She graduated from McAlester High School and attended nursing school in Kansas.

She later worked at the U.S. Naval Ammunitions Plant during the Vietnam era and then worked in retail for a number of local businesses. She married James A. Nolan III on July 25, 1942, in Micawber.

She enjoyed her time cooking and gardening and always enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Elks Ladies Auxiliary, the Rebeccas and was a long time member of the Pittsburg County Tree Board.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Cecil and Joanne Moore, of Tulsa; sister-in-law, Ruby Moore, of Van Buren, Ark.; daughter and son-in-law, Julia and Ron Gray, of San Angelo, Texas; her sons and a daughter-in-law, Joe and Kathy Nolan, of McAlester and Jeff Nolan, of McAlester; grandson and spouses, James Collier, of Midland, Texas, Jason and Jessica Nolan, of McAlester, Cody and Miranda Hunter ,of McAlester, Denver and Leslie Hunter, of McAlester, Tyler Hunter, of McAlester; granddaughters and spouses, Jana and Luke Lindsey, of San Angelo, Texas, Jennifer and Rick Pool, of Langley; great-grandsons, A.J. Collier, Tyler Collier, Lane Fox, Cru Nolan, Bax Nolan, Wylie Hunter; and great-granddaughters, Casey Collier, Jodie Pool, Taylor Pool and Kamryn Lindsey.

She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, Linda Collier, Mary Kay, Paige McClain, Lou Copple, Phyllis Sirmon, Pat Tolson, Wanda Wilson and Emily Goodwin along with all her ‘family’ and friends at Beare Manor in Hartshorne.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Nolan; a brother, Ralph Moore; a granddaughter, Jeana and a great-granddaughter, Emmie.

In lieu of  flowers, memorials may be made to the Pittsburg County Tree Board at the request of the family.
