Marylou Martinez, 63, of McAlester, died Monday, April 14, 2014, at Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at Brumley-Mills Chapel with Dr. James B. Crowson officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
Born May 11, 1950, in Rock Springs, Wyo., she was the daughter of Leon and Dorothy (Gammel) Thienpont. She worked as a sales associate at Wal-Mart and enjoyed camping, bingo and, most of all, spending time with her family.
Survivors include her companion, John Fleener, of the home; children, Floyd Martinez and Wesley Herren, Richmond, Texas, Tammy Krotzer and Fred Fleck, Rock Springs, Roberta and Jesse Rippetoe, of McAlester, Tonya Fleener, of Oklahoma City, and Shon Fleener of Oklahoma City.
Also, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Elmer Burkhart, Rock Springs, and Debbie and Alan McGarvey, Rock Springs; one brother and sister-in-law, Leon and Kandi Thienpont, Rock Springs; grandchildren and spouses, Tony and Angie Martinez, Heather Martinez, Ben and Elizabeth Munsinge, Christina Krotzer and Robert Friel, Charles “C.J.” Rippetoe and Brandi Crosbie, J.C. Cook, Amber and Michael Jones, Shane Fleck, Cheyenne Fleck, Dayzia Fleck and Hayden Thomas, and great-grandchildren, Chandler Martinez, Aubry Martinez, Priscilla Martinez, Kolby Martinez and Amiyah Munsinger and Matty Jones.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Robyn Thienpont, and an uncle, Bobby Gammel.
