Gurney Vincent Taylor, 75 of McAlester, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at a local nursing home.
A memorial service is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Richville Baptist Church in McAlester. Arrangements are under the direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home.
He was born April 15, 1938, to Nathaniel Clark and Julia Goodwin in Holly Hill, S.C. He worked for the Pittsburg County commissioners as a heavy equipment operator, for mobile tire repair service in Tulsa and for Lumbar County in South Tulsa. He was a member of the Richville Baptist Church.
He was a very friendly and outgoing person that enjoyed being around people.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Taylor, of the home; daughters, Torrie Taylor of McAlester, Sheila Taylor, of Tulsa, and Keisha Morgan, of New York; granddaughter, Emi Juel Taylor; brothers and sisters, Barbara Ann Goodwin, George Goodwin, Charles Goodwin, Harry Lee Goodwin, Anthony Clark, Johnny Goodwin, Larry Clark, Otis Clark; and numerous cousins and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel Clark and Julia Goodwin, and sister, Emma Mae Davis, and brother, Boley Clark.
