Bobby Gene Babb

McALESTER — Bobby Gene Babb, 80, of McAlester, died Monday, March 18, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Chaney’s Memorial Chapel with Pastor Larry Jones officiating. Burial will be at Holdenville Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home of McAlester.

Born Nov. 20, 1932, in Holdenville, he was the son of Eugene Garfield Babb and Neoma Ruth (Venable) Babb.

He joined the United States Army on Jan. 27, 1953, and served in the Korean War.

After being honorably discharged, he married Bonnie Garner on Oct. 17, 1956, in Ada, and they had three children.

He later married Vern Oriece Shed on Jan. 3, 1969, and they had a son and he also had a stepdaughter.
