Denzel Deaton

Denzel Alvin Deaton, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009.

Celebration of Life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Savanna City Hall with the Rev. Ed Bray officiating. A buffet meal will follow the services. Arrangements were under the direction of Corbett Funeral Home of Edmond.

Born Aug. 11, 1937, he was the son of Riccie Lorene Compton and Clarence Daniel Deaton. He retired to Savanna in 1997 after many years of managing hotels and restaurants across the southwest. At the time of his death, he was employed by Pinkerton Security Services.

Survivors include four brothers, Floyd Deaton and Orben Deaton, of Savanna, Doyle Deaton, of Stigler, and Jerry Deaton, of Moore, and two sisters, Glenda Vogt and Barbara Morris, of Savanna.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Maxey Deaton, and one sister, Lila Ann Deaton Johns.
