Two Wilburton High School seniors were recognized as Students of the Month for September by members of the Wilburton Kiwanis Club. Pictured from left are, Elisabeth Dunn and Cade Fite. The students were special guests during the club’s Wednesday, September 18 meeting held in the Student Life Center on the campus of Eastern Oklahoma State College.
Dunn is the daughter of Tim and Lisa Baker and Elliott and Stephanie Dunn. She attends Wilburton High School where she is a member of the academic team, speech, vocal music, student council and Spanish club. She currently serves as senior class president and speech club co-president. She starred as Laurie in last year’s production of “Oklahoma” and as Elsa in the 2013 production of “Sound of Music”. She was a state speech qualifier, state runner-up on the 2011 academic team and was the VFW Voice of Democracy essay winner. Dunn attends the Wilburton Church of Christ and Sand Springs Church of Christ. Her hobbies include reading, photography, and dramatic arts. She plans to attend Eastern Oklahoma State College and then the University of Central Oklahoma majoring in English education. Cade Fite is the son of Steven and Joanna Fite. He attends Wilburton High School where he has been a member of the Digger football, basketball, baseball, track and power lifting teams. His is also active in competitive speech, drama and vocal music. He currently serves as a captain of the football team. Fite is a member of the Apostolic Church of the Rock in Wilburton. He plans to attend college upon graduation to pursue a degree in natural gas compression and heavy diesel mechanics.
