McALESTER —

Cornerstone Creations Department of GFWC McAlester Fortnightly held their monthly meeting at Lakewood Christian Church on Veterans Day. The program was delivered by Retired MSGT US Air Force, Cynthia Henrichs. Henrichs is pictured demonstrating a correct salute to the Flag of the United States of America. Henrichs served our country for 24 years and 7 months on three continents at ten different air bases. Henrich and her husband Steve are the parents of 6 children and Grandparents of 23. Cynthia is active in volunteering with Fortnightly and the Twin Cities VFW Post 3085. During the meeting, Cynthia explained the beginning of Armistice Day on November 11, 1918 to honor the end of WWI. After the GFWC meeting, Cynthia changed into her Sergeant’s uniform to work her next shift at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary as a correctional officer.
