Power outage in Krebs caused by high winds
An outage caused by high winds occured in Krebs today at 12:15 p.m. and was resolved by 1:05 p.m., according to Frank Phillips of American Electric Power/Public Service Company of Oklahoma.
Power outage result of failed equipment, sounded sirens not related
It was failed equipment that caused a power outage at 1:57 p.m. today left 1251 customers without power until 2:15 p.m., Public Service Company spokesman Frank Phillips said, shirtly after the power was restored.
OEM testing sirens today and power outage not related
Director of the McAlester Pittsburg County Office of Emergecy Managment said sirens hear at approximately 1:45 p.m. today were only a test and not related to the power outages in McAlester.

MPS in session Monday
McAlester Public Schools are to be in session Monday, according to MPS spokesperson Debbie Watkins.
She said originally the day was planned to be a school holiday, but will nowe serve as a snow make up day.

“The entire church body of the Jehovah Witness Church” allegedly concealed child molestation crimes alleged against a man identified as a former church elder, according to a motion filed in Pittsburg County District Court.
McAlester Schools to be in session Tuesday
McAlester Public Schools will be in session Tuesday (Feb. 4) with a lenient tardy policy, according to Superintendent Marsha Gore.
She said the lenient tardy is to give everyone plenty of time to drive safely and use caution.
