Authorities ask area-residents to drive safe

McALESTER — McAlester Police Chief Jim Lyles and Trent Myers, director of Pittsburg County/McAlester Office of Emergency Management, both ask area-residents to drive safely.

No bridges or roads are out, Myers said, but there is a lot of water on numerous roads. "People really need to watch out for water on the road," Myers said. "They need to drive carefully so they won't hydroplane. And they need to follow the saying 'turn around, don't drown,' — people should not be driving through deep water on the roads."
