There are currently 38 customers experiencing power outages in the McAlester area as of 10:30 a.m., according to Frank Phillips, Community Affairs Manager of Public Service Company of Oklahoma.
Phillips said there were 2,401 customers reported out at1:49 a.m. At 2:38 this morning 641 customers received repaired power. At 3:11 a.m. 857 received power and at 4:07 a.m. 382 received power as well. He said 521 customers had to continue waiting due to a broken pole behind Krebs Corner.
Phillips said lightning hampered efforts to repair the broken pole, but at 9:30 a.m. the pole was replaced and 521 customers from that route have power back.
"We're going to have scattered (outages) today," Phillips said.
He said crews from Tulsa and Lawton are on their way and adds that those crews have also aided customers experiencing damage from the tornadoes that hit central Oklahoma on Sunday and Monday.
Crews are going to take turns resting, but will work towards restoring power as long as necessary.
