OSP officer pleads guilty to accepting bribe

McALESTER — A female correctional officer at Oklahoma State Penitentiary pleaded guilty of accepting a bribe and bringing contraband into the prison.

Chelsea Lynn Iniguez , 22, of Checotah, a former correctional center cadet at OSP, pleaded guilty Jan. 30 in Pittsburg County Court to one felony count of officer accepting a bribe and one misdemeanor charge of bringing contraband into a penal institution, court records state.

As a condition of the plea-agreement she is not to work at a penal institution or jail, according to court records.

Iniguez was charged in November after she allegedly admitted to an OSP chief of security that she had delivered a cell phone and drugs to an inmate, according to a court affidavit filed in the case.

Iniguez had also signed a written statement admitting to the delivery of contraband to the inmate, the affidavit alleges.

The inmate denied receiving the contraband and a search of his cell did not produce any of the contraband, according to the affidavit.

Iniguez was sentenced to four years deferred on each count to run concurrently.
