Two seniors were recognized as Students of the Month for October by members of the Wilburton Kiwanis Club. The students were special guests during the club’s Oct. 12 meeting held on the campus of Eastern Oklahoma State College.

Rachel Skimbo is the daughter of James and Susan Skimbo of Wilburton. She attends Wilburton High School where she is a member of the Lady Diggers basketball team, FBLA and the yearbook staff. She served as community editor of the yearbook her junior year and is currently serving as editor. She is a member of the National Honor Society and was in the top 10 percent of her freshman class. She has also been active in service learning, the Wilburton 4-H club and was selected as junior high basketball queen.

Skimbo is a member of the Wilburton First United Methodist Church. She enjoys playing basketball and spending time with friends and family. She plans to attend Eastern Oklahoma State College majoring in accounting.

Luke Forwoodson is the son of Todd and Janice Forwoodson of Wilburton. He attends Wilburton High School where he has participated in band, FFA and the Fellowship of Christian Students. He currently serves as president of the Wilburton FFA chapter and as vice-president of the senior class.

Forwoodson is an active member of Centerpoint Baptist Church and youth group. He enjoys showing cattle, playing video games, and painting and drawing. He plans to continue his education by attending college and major in art.
