Wilburton Kiwanis

Two Wilburton High School seniors were recognized as Students of the Month for May by members of the Wilburton Kiwanis Club. The students were special guests during the club’s Wednesday, April 23 meeting held in the Student Life Center on the campus of Eastern Oklahoma State College. Kylie Rigsby is the daughter of Jerry and Susan Rigsby. She attends Wilburton High School where she is a member of FBLA, Spanish club, student council, and yearbook. She serves as editor for the yearbook, student council class secretary, and a teacher’s aide. She has received numerous state awards in yearbook. Rigsby attends Red Oak First Baptist Church where she is a member of the youth group and works in the nursery. She enjoys all kinds of dance including tap, jazz, ballet, and lyrical. She plans to attend the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma with a major in speech-language pathology. Christine Sockey is the son of Ronnie and Tracey Sockey. She attends Wilburton High School where he is a member of the Lady Digger basketball and track teams, science club, Spanish club, band and student council. She is the president of the science and Spanish clubs and serves as reporter for the student council. She also a member of National Honor Society and has participated in many of their community service projects. Sockey enjoys reading and listening to music. She plans to attend Eastern Oklahoma State College upon graduation to pursue a degree in nursing.
